NO STAINS NO

Right, I think I speak for everyone here at Milk.it HQ when I say that we get stains or other such marks on our clothes on a pretty much daily basis. And it really is annoying.
SO rather than living our lives looking like the cast of Annie or Oliver Twist, we figured it might be a good idea to research into how to get rid of those annoying, yet oh so common, stains and b*astard marks that insist themselves upon our clothes.

Milk.it HQ...
(Please note that the above picture is not actually Milk.it HQ,its a still from Oliver Twist..durr)

Whether it's a pen that you've left in your pocket or a sandwich that dropped its filling onto your lap at lunch time - we've got a remedy for you! Just follow these steps and watch the stains run scared.

- First off do not under any circumstances let the stain set. This is when the stain (whatever it may be) sets in with the fabric, deeming your garment f*cked. If this happens then the only thing that you can do is replace that patch of fabric.Or throw the item away.Chuck it out t'window.

This is obviously not what you want to do so do this instead.

- When a stain ruins your day, wherever you are, immediately soak it with lukewarm water.
- Do not put it anywhere near heat.As in direct heat.Like a radiator.Or a hair dryer.Or a fire..This will speed up the setting of the stain.
- If you have any of the well known brand stain removers use them immediately too.
- Resist the temptation to scrub the stain out.Rubbing or scrubbing will just force the stain into the fabric and, once again, your garment will be f*cked.

Check what material your garment is because different materials require different cleaning and treatments.

Wool - Soak the garment of the effected area but rather than hanging it up to dry, just lay it flat (on a table or something like that) as hanging it when wet or draping it over a radiator will distort the wool and change the shape of the garment.

Cotton - This is super resilient so you soak and dry the sh*t out of cotton stuff (literally). A few things that are good for stains on cotton are lemon juice and vinegar - most people will have these at home so it may not cost you anything!

Synthetics - Such as Polyester can be washed and scrubbed (not too much mind) but they can endure more than cotton BUT they can't handle things like lemon juice or vinegar. No no no no no.

Silk - Silk is a tricky little bugger. You can apply luke warm water to this but I'd advise soaking the whole garment, otherwise you'll get weird little water marks where the stain was...which is essentially just another stain..pointless.

Things to apply to different things

Water - for soaking purposes.

Salt - If you put it on top of the stain then whatever the stain is will attach itself onto the salt crystals. This is really good for red wine, sweat or blood stains...dodgy night.

Vinegar/Lemon Juice - Good against tea and coffee but also against grass or glue stains..Mainly tea and or coffee though.

Detergent - does its job.

Common sense comes in handy when removing stains. However,if common sense can't be found then the next best thing is usually asking an old lady. I don't know how or why but they usually know what to do in these situations...

BACK TO SCHOOL

Hey guys and girls,
We hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend! (and for those of you not in England – we hope you had a good weekend too!). Here in Essex, the home of Milk.it HQ, the sun appeared for a little while but it was still,as always, freezing.
We would've posted yesterday but what with the move (which is taking alot longer than previously anticipated) we had a load of boxes and deliveries to deal with. We’re all feeling pretty feeble today because of it…should
probably definitely exercise more!
Anyway, the move continues today so it’s unlikely that we will be shooting or uploading today and maybe not even tomorrow. But don’t let that put you off, some new stuff went up yesterday. Here’s a little example.
